GET MOTIVATED WITH DPM PERFORMANCE blog ed. 16

If you haven't checked back here since last monday, there is a video that I want you to watch. It takes just under 10 mins but that is 10 minutes that you definately WON'T waste today.

I was reading something during the week and I came across this very powerful statement. It is from Sales Trainer John Hammond:

"The elevator to the top is out of order - you will have to take the stairs and you will have to take them one at a time."

What do you think?

I like it. No short cuts to success is what it all comes down to.

How many times have you heard about the so called 'hard luck' stories of the people who win lotto and lose it all in a couple of years because they are the schmuck who listens to someone who is out to take advantage of them.

Do you think they would've been in the same place if they had've earnt their money through years of working smart? Of course not.

Sure sometimes business people fall on hard times and have to rebuild but the difference is they almost always get back on top.

Think Donald Trump. You don't get much bigger than that. Think John Symonds of Aussie Home Loans. Ditto.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Long time readers will know that I love to throw in a good article or 3 about flax seeds every now and then. Now here's another benefit.

A Cancer Inhibitor With a Little Crunch
By Ray Sahelian, M.D.

I am a big fan of flaxseeds. I really enjoy the crunchy taste. Flaxseeds - which are rich in omega-3 fatty acids and lignans (a fiber found in the seed coat) - are helpful for colon health, similar in some ways to psyllium. And new research indicates that they can prevent the spread of some types of cancer.

Researchers at Duke University Medical Center in North Carolina took a look at the seed's role as a food supplement in 161 men who were scheduled to undergo surgery for prostate cancer. Half of the men added 30 grams of flaxseed (about one ounce) to their diets for about 30 days.

After the surgery, the researchers looked at the men's tumor cells to see how quickly the cancer had multiplied. The cancer cells in the flaxseed group were growing about 30 to 40 percent slower than in the control group.

If you want to get the health benefits of flaxseeds, you can add half a teaspoon or a teaspoon of raw flaxseeds to soups and salads. Or you can take a flaxseed oil supplement in the form of one or two softgels a day. You can find flaxseeds and flaxseed oil in health food stores or online.

As a sidenote - I like my flax seed oil but make sure that you keep it in the fridge and away from direct light. It has a short shelf life (around 30 days or so from memory) so make sure if you buy a big one that it gets used otherwise it can become rancid.

You will find this in the fridge of your local chemist or health supplement store. I know what I'll be adding to my nice little stir fry tonight!

What's your excuse?

Fire UP!
